Your task is to help the scientists get the cell slides back in the correct boxes by examining the similarities and differences between animal and plant cells by using a variety of resources in your WebQuest.

You might want to look at the "Rubric" section and see the rubric of how you are going to be graded. This will give you a better idea of what I am looking for.

1. You will first go to Discovery Education and complete the task linked below. You will need to log into your DE account to do this.

2. You will write down at least 5 facts that you learn through this mission. Make sure to include supporting evidence. You the web links below to help you with this part of the mission.

3. You will also create a Venn Diagram showing the functions and parts that both types of cells share and which functions and parts are different. Use the various web links for this stage.

4. Lastly after searching several actual drawings of plant and animal cells (go back to the links above). You will choose a plant OR an animal cell and draw a diagram of it with labels and colors for each part of the cell. Be sure to label these parts:

  • cell wall

  • cell membrane

  • nucleus

  • cytoplasm

  • chloroplasts (if the cell has that part)

  • Any other parts labeled with be extra fun and learning!

When you are done, be sure to look over the rubric to see if you covered all your bases.

Now get going! The scientists are counting on you!!!
